The successful candidate will join a team of researchers at UBC’s AMPEL for the summer. The job involves roll to roll fabrication and molding of billions of magnetic micro-rods used to help align the growth of axons in the spinal cord. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team at UBC, under the direction of the Director of Neuroethics Canada, Dr. Judy Illes, that is devoted to neuroscience and biomedical ethics as part of the Mend the Gap project.
The successful candidate will join an international research team devoted to understanding the mechanisms that mediate scarring and repair of the injured spinal cord in order to promote functional repair.
